Haute Street REVIEW

THE TOURIST

Starring Angelina Jolie and Johnny Depp
Costume Design by Colleen Atwood
Produced by GK Films and Tim Headington

Colleen Atwood’s artistic interpretation was displayed beautifully in The Tourist.  The costumes were timeless and chic.  Salvatore Ferragamo designed a shoe collection for Angelina Jolie’s character Elise, who wears a total of 12 outfits throughout the film.

“My inspiration for Elise’s costumes were the Hitchcock movies: minimal elegance…  I’ve always loved a glove, and was filming in the land of fine gloves, so I used a fine suede glove to finish the look.”

HONEYSUCKLE

for 2011

NY Fashion Week- Designer Inspired Honeysuckle Sketches

Pantone, the provider of professional color standards for the design industry, has announced their color of the year for 2011- HONEYSUCKLE.  They’ve chosen it to wash away your blues, as a vibrant, energetic hue!  Be fashion forward and stock up on honeysuckle accents and staple pieces for your 2011 wardrobe!

“The intensity of this festive reddish pink allures and engages. In fact, this color, not the sweet fragrance of the flower blossoms for which it was named, is what attracts hummingbirds to nectar. Honeysuckle may also bring a wave of nostalgia for its associated delicious scent reminiscent of the carefree days of spring and summer.”

Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute

  • 50g caster sugar
  • 275ml full-fat milk
  • 142ml carton double cream
  • 150ml brandy
  • Grated fresh nutmeg, to serve

    L’Wren Scott

L’Wren began her journey at a young age behind a sewing machine.  As she grew older, she went to from Utah to Paris, to model for Chanel and Thierry Mugler.  She engulfed herself into the fashion world, eventually stepping off the runway and moving to Los Angeles.  She then began working as a stylist and creative director.  Her main focus in the fashion world was on set, backstage and in different wardrobe departments for film studios.  This exposure to designers and being able to work hands on with the garments gave her the understanding of garment construction, and the reputation as one of the most sought after stylists.  From experience to experience she brought herself to begin her own line which has developed into classic, chic pieces from denim to evening wear.
