I swear - I lose track of time too often on tumblr. It's visual hypnotisim.
After such a hectic week with the Grammys, I couldn't get to Ojai quick enough (known for its Olives, Oranges and Avocados) but mostly known as a place to rest from the BUSY CITY and all of its expectations and pressures. I was driving down the 33 and I passed a sign that said FREE DIRT. I laughed out loud.
Date night with my love.
Tony and I love to sneak away to this charming little restaurant in Laurel Canyon, Pace. We have our regular table and usually order the pasta or the special and spend several minutes catching up with maitre d. We share a bottle of Pinot Noir while writing each other love letters with crayons they give you at each table.

As I sit here in my hotel room, my heart is aching for my little loves. I miss them so much - leaving them to go on tour is so difficult. I love getting away with my man, but it's so tough to be away from the kids for so long. This is the third time that i've left them and it's not getting any easier...
2.2014 - the Gold Coast
Mike went surfing at the Gold Coast in Brisbane! It looked epic... I worked on my tan... :)
One thing I love about Australia is the relaxed way of life. Most everyone has a cool "no worries" vibe about them. This is my fourth time here & it never gets old.
My hubby and I always travel with a deck of cards... we love playing Gin Rummy. We found this Australian butts deck years ago, it was from my first trip down under and we still use them!!!
Loving it here! Austrailia reminds me of California in the 50's... everyone is so worry free and relaxed. #feelingthankful
My girlfriend Susan Holmes and I playing around down under. This reminded us of her old modeling days, so we decided to re-enact it!
Of course finding an Hermes panther is very important. A MUST on EVERY trip! lol!!!
Susan Holmes and I at Paddington Market in Sydney. Her hubby Duff McKagan, is also on this Austrailian tour. I'm so happy to have a GF with me!!! #FunTimes
The other part of my life... #TravelingGypsyMama
Loving the beaches. Today we spent the day at Manly Beach, it was quite windy with tons of Blue Bottle Jellyfish...
Overlooking all of Sydney, so gorgeous! This really puts things into perspective as far as beaches and bridges...
Over the winter break my family and I went to my hometown, Ojai. We visited family, relaxed and rode horses. This is Jack, my new horse!
There's something about being around horses that makes you feel #FREE.
It was a gorgeous weekend in Ojai, almost felt like summer. The kids thrived in the winter sun, it was hard to believe that it was 80 degrees in December!
Brixton is a true #COWBOY.
He's a great rider and is fearless. He's learning the rules of living on a ranch and it is truly the most liberating feeling to watch your kids thrive on the open range. They're not afraid to get dirty, love to help in any way that they can and have the most amazing imaginations. It's so special to watch their confidence and self esteem grow as they get older. #family
I love going back to Ojai. We're surrounded by family and it's ALL SMILES! The kids have lots of cousins to play with...
I feel that it's important to let your kids feel free and fill their souls with love, confidence, awareness and adventure. I support them and encourage them as much as I can.
Ryan Ruby Mae
Ryan got a new pink cowboy hat for Christmas! She LOVES pink. This polkadot tutu dress is RyRy's #FAVORITE! She tries to wear it every day. At times I let her - I feel that these are short phases in their lives and as a parent you have to give in to somethings and let them be in control of some choices. I'm hoping that learning this at a young age will help them learn how to problem solve.
The beauty of Ojai is endless.
This is Jack - even my husband will get on and ride. He's a very mellow young beauty.
A family Christmas ride...

I missed my baby girl......
FINALLY home after a long flight. I slip into my La Perla robe just to feel sexy again!
Traveling, touring, bus hopping and hotel crashin can really drain you.
Reminding me of J Bird...
Finding all kinds of Brian Viveros knock-offs here:
He's a friend of ours and we have quite the collection, so finding these in Sayulita were fun.
My very First DVF, and for some reason after 10 years, I still can NOT get rid of it.
Loving the MEXICAN BALMAIN:
At Our friends' Sayulita wedding, and LOVING the mariachi band. I can not get over the AMAZING embellishment on their pants and jackets.
I'm loving all the bright colors in Mexico.
Traveling sans children is always bittersweet! Not only is it important to maintain a romantic, "#Young&in-love" relationship but to have a chance to get away and connect with your best friend is a great feeling.
Last flight of the tour...
HUGE emotions as my man walks off stage - I know we're finally homeward bound.
A moment to catch up on some magazine reads.
It's really quite interesting how much fashion moves me. I love to mix different styles of fashion. From Parisian to Russian and Grecian and of course my hubby's background and style has more than influenced me. I've always been curious and inspired by the punk/grunge scene. YES- I used them BOTH in a sentence! I guess you can say I like comfort with a HUGE hit of underground edge.
With that said, my travel attire consists of the Rick Owen "Dutch" clogs, dramatically long, yet sans airport floor hitting beach skirt, Golden Goose pinstripe Pajama Blouse, a thrift store denim jacket, a drippy sun damaged beach hat, a garage sale cheetah broach pendant... AND my favorite Saint Laurent, gold tassel necklace!!!!! (Because we're trying to be under the radar in Mexico, lol!!!!)
I have always had an interest in Japanese culture. My favorite fashion trend: the (school girl) white knee high sock! It's accommodating for keeping your feet clean, warm, germ free AND helps with circulation! I learned this from traveling while pregnant. Tight circulating pantyhose on flights are a requirement from OBGYNs.
This is the FIRST time that we've left the kids while traveling internationally It's #heartbreaking, but of course, family is always there to be with my babies.
This time my fabulous mother is the lucky winner, as she often is the one to give me absolute peace...
Off to Sayulita, Mexico for a wedding!
Currently on the flight writing my diary entry and noticing my grande butt chin. Everybody should have a BUTT CHIN because it's very obvious I have a cleft chin. I might as well have fun with it..
Where to begin on this one... Yes, it may seem luxurious to go out on tour. The truth of it is that it's LOTS OF WORK!!!!! Having two little ones, ages four and two... life on wheels never seemed more daunting. The #1 Rule on the Bus is NO POOPING!!!!! So, when your on the bus for 10+ hours how do you allow your little ones to poop???? Bag it!!!!! Yes, I said "bag it" and if one doesn't get that, it's better you don't.
Driving through the gorgeous Swiss/Italian border...
My hubby and I get a bed large enough to snuggle in. Our little monsters have the choice of bunks or squeezing in the middle of mommy and daddy. Usually, the monsters snuggle with us, meaning Daddy gets kicked out into a bunk!
After playing 3 hour shows and jumping like a teenager with an 11 LB bass, it really doesn't help to have a little bed ---- sorry Lover!!!! (He really is the BEST hubby/daddy EVER!!!!)
Husband and wife alone time....
The Kids: Luckily the 10+ hour bus rides along the bumpy, curvy roads were during sleeping hours and my little monsters slept as if they were on a ship at sea. As far as mommy & daddy, it's never peaceful OR restful!
We have a very tight crew around us and after weeks on the road, they are all our FAMILY. Here is a pic of Brix getting some good belly laughs pretending to drive the HUGE double decker bus...
Life is NOT all Rock 'N Roll and I Like it!!!!!
On the road with my four year old son and two year old daughter...there are highs and lows to being on and off tour. We're either with daddy or without, it is A LOT of work and I DON'T have a nanny. Yes, I have help (my mother is a Saint)! I grew up with family and friends helping to raise me, so I feel that's best for my children. There are times that I lose my patience... 24 hours in a hotel just isn't enough stability along with a suitcase for me and the babes.
My Son, the mini rock star:
He enjoys squirting people with the water gun, rocking out to daddy's music - typical four year old!!!!
City to city - Hotel to hotel:
On the bus for another hour - headed to Araas, France. I'm in desperate need of Nuxe Gold oil. It truly is the BEST secret to sexy skin, hair and just S-E-X!!!! Of course, most of my favorite things are French but I truly love the Dutch culture. They are the most easy going, chill and worry free people... or so it seems (sans the crazy bicycles with a baby in the back and two in the front being pushed on a wooden box! It's amazing how these mothers transport their little ones)!
This brings me to my favorite shop in Amsterdam!!!! TAMAGO AMSTERDAM, THE vintage store to buy from. I, of course, found a CHANEL classic black and white tweed jacket, MISSONI bathing suit wrap and a cashmere leopard print blouse.
Our apartment was just a few blocks away and I found a few more CHANEL pieces in just my size, however, I passed it up due to my other treasures.
These are some "normal weapons" that they sell...
Can you imagine buying a mase for a four year old?!?!?!? LOL
Estonia is a Viking country! I found a great Viking helmut for Brixton!
You definitely need to wear some form of strong flats for the cobblestone roads here in Tallinn, Estonia.
This is a pic of some old luggage at THE TELEGRAAF HOTEL in ESTONIA
I always LOVE when I check into a hotel and there is Louis Vuitton luggage waiting!
A delicious ESTONIAN dessert
Flying into St. Petersburg ... they say it's the Paris of Russia!!!!!
Getting to know the city....
Since I've been here, I've grown to love it more and more. St. Petersburg is where the economic forum of 2013 takes place, so most of the nice hotels are booked!! What a difference from Moscow. Here, they have the "whitest nights", meaning it doesn't get darker than a sunset. Along the river walk they draw their bridges up for passing ships. I LOVED this!!!!
I visited Saint Isaac's Cathedral and it's almost comparable to the Sistine Chapel in my opinion. Although, there IS more gold, therefore, I enjoyed it more!!!! HA!
I lit a candle and said a prayer for our family, then continued on for more sightseeing...
I was having lunch at what I considered to be downtown St. Petersburg - the menu had everything from sushi to burgers. I ordered the greek salad and a Russian soup hoping that I would get the authentic cold Borscht with shredded beats, however, when it arrived it looked like yogurt and sour cream with sliced radishes and cucumbers. I tried it and didn't really care for it, so proceeded to order a white wine. I did, however, enjoy the greek salad. After Iunch, I headed to DLT very excited to shop!
MY MOST IMPORTANT TOPIC....THE SHOPPING!
I found some of the prices to be outrageously expensive. I was curious to see their Saint Laurent pieces and was so happy to find the huge fedora floppy hat. Unfortunately, it was a size too big so I moved on to a black suit jacket with a perfect thin white trim. Some items were more than double the American prices. A solid white blouse which I purchased at MAXFIELD in Los Angeles was just over $2000.00 more then I paid!!!!
Could it be that DLT up-charges that much or was it the demand for Saint Laurent?
The DLT store in St. Petersburg is beautiful! It's an old WWII building that took over 5 years to repair and build out.
This brings me to the SHOWS!!!! The crowds are different here. I feel very emotional and am falling in Love with Russia. The fans are GREAT! This is the first time that Green Day has been here so you can really feel the love!!!!
I went to a book store in search of a Russian Copy of Lolita, unfortunately, they did not have it. I DID buy "Good Night Moon" for my kids (we have the English and French versions at home). This is our nightly reading material, however, this version I cannot read. #russian
VOGUE - Russia
Of course, I get a foreign Vogue wherever I visit - this month's Russian cover in my opinion, is HORRIBLE.
And, I couldn't pass up the Playboy. My husband and I collect vintage Playboy magazines. This just looked interesting and after careful review, I have decided that I would definitely DO Playboy!!!! This one is tasteful, very few naked women. In fact just three are only revealing their breasts. Then of course while flipping through the pages, what do I find? An article of Green Day - they covered the upcoming summer festivals and who's headlining... go figure! My man in Russian Playboy.
BACK in the U.S.S.R
My militant Russian cap....
Leaving our hotel and it's gorgeous out! Slightly windy, contemplating wearing my Chanel floppy hat.
Mike just went out to take pictures, there are tons of fans waiting outside and they are all very sweet!!!
FOREVER in LOVE!!!!!
It is MAGICAL in Moscow! It's not Paris, but there's something in the air here. The WOMEN are GORGEOUS and statuesk. THERE'S SO MUCH SHOPPING, JUST TRYING TO TAKE IT ALL IN!
And we're out! Thanks for following me through the weekend! Check me out on @caraasantanaand my blog CaraDisclothed.com to see more of what I'm up to! Til' next time! That's a wrap!#themusediares#hautestreet
Breakfast of MUSES...
Nothing is more important then special moments with the people you love. Here's a private moment of me and Jesse in his hometown of Connecticut enjoying family, good weather and each other.
I shot my first International cover this year for Shape Magazine Middle East. Unfortunately, it was the month of Rama-Don and no gratuitous skin could be showing. Haha!
It was still and honor! - I loved talking about my fitness routine and how I stay fit!
On the top of my list of passions is travel! I love to see the World and learn about different cultures and experience a life outside of my own. I been so fortunate to visit some amazing countries! Here I went to Dubai with my brother and Jesse for a two week trip. Of the highlights: camel riding in the dunes of the desert.
The gorgeous Ashley Madekwe and I at the Who What Wear Style Awards, where Ashley was recognized for he amazing style! Go Ash! She rocked blue Theory! I wore vintage Versace!
Next stop last summer London!
I combined my love of travel and fashion. I hit some shows for London
Fashion Week and had a blast!
Also this year, I traveled to Monaco with friends. My friend and I enjoyed the sun after some jet skiing in Monte Carlo!
There's nothing better then girlfriends!!!
I love palling around with my friends! Here are Kristy Sowin, Julianne Hough and I hanging out at a concert!
Another cause I am passionate about is animal rescue. As a supporter of this cause I promote Wagaware, the only charm to support dog rescue. My baby Dexter wears this charm and half of the proceeds, $15 goes to a rescue organization of Wagaware's choice!
I started a fashion blog to celebrate my love of fashion. CaraDisclothed.com launched 2 months ago and I love discussing trends, what I wear, why I wear it and what I love!
Last night I had a great time kicking of the Holiday Season with my friend Jared Eng (creator of JustJared) and Blanda Eggenschweiler at her and Joe Jonas' party! They had everything from carolers and a DJ to exchanging gifts and hookah! It was an amazingly fun night at their new home!!
Just chilling with Diane Von Furstenberg in Dallas...
We got together to celebrate UNICEF and bring awareness to AIDS. Here at her store all then proceeds went to the cause. She's so major!
Of huge significance to me, is my love and desire to be of service. This was something strongly instilled in me by my parents and faith. I'm not one to boast on this type of matter, as the Jewish faith says the best "Mitzvah", or good deed, is the one "where neither the giver or receiver knows the other". However, in an effort to bring awareness and focus on the needs of others and encourage others to help, I share moments such as these. Having spent so much time in Dallas, Jesse and I have become advocates of the North Texas Food Bank and their programs and efforts to bring meals to those in need. We help pack boxes of food for children to be delivered to their schools to ensure they have weekend meals, arrange holiday meals and ask for donations to the food bank. We get a great deal of satisfaction and gratitude in doing so.
Girl's Night with Meghan Markle and New York Fashion Week. Here we hung with BCBG designer Max Azria. Woops, I was wearing Alexander Wang! Shh. Don't tell.
I moved out to L.A. at 15 and have been working as an actress ever since. I started by modeling and being so short progresses into acting, which was always my main focus. This is from the last shoot I did for a French publication. We shot it in the mountains above Malibu. It was a great day!
Knowing me is knowing my past!
I grew up in El Paso, Texas. My mom and my dad have been married for 35 years. They're the best parents you could ask for. My mom is a Russian Jew and my dad, Italian Catholic. I was raised in the Jewish faith, Bat Mitzvah'd and all, but went to an Episcopalian elementary school so I would be well versed in both faiths. Being well rounded and open minded were important principals to my parents. Having a good education and a good heart takes you far and my parents did everything to ensure that. When I moved out at 15 to pursue my dream of acting, I had the grounding and foundation to stay true to myself and have the integrity to take this journey.
These are my favorite boys! My dog Dexter and my man. We're pretty much inseparable. We take the majority of our trips together and always manage to have fun. Dexter is part Chihuahua and part Jack Russell. I found him on the side of the road - 6 years ago and he's been ours ever since.
There's never a dull moment with these guys around! That's paparazzi. They're an LA staple. You learn to live with them. 6AM and at the gym... Oh well! I try not to take life too seriously, well not this kind of stuff.
My favorite motto in life: "Seek rather to understand, then to be understood". Everyone, including these guys are trying to make a living and provide for their loved ones. Having compassion and an open mind helps me keep perspective and co-exist with all those around me... even when you're just trying to grab an early morning workout!
Hi! I'm Cara Santana. Welcome to my crazy world!
I live in Los Angeles with my handsome boyfriend - that's him! His name is Jesse. Right now he works on the TNT series Dallas. We spend our time back and forth from Texas and California. I love life. I just can't get enough. Whether it's being in Los Angeles and getting glammed up for Hollywood parties, dressing down to aid one of my favorite causes or traveling the world - I do it all with a full heart and an eager soul. Let me take you into my life!
My friend Justine sent me this photo from when we spent two months backpacking around India. I was 18 years old and I felt so utterly content. Travel is a huge part of my life and memories from this particular trip still make me smile. I truly believe that travel is the greatest education. There is so much to learn from experiencing different cultures and seeing the incredible sights of our precious planet.
London was buzzing with London Fashion Week, The Baftas, The Elle Style Awards and The Brit awards all in the same week. To celebrate, The BFC, BAFTA and BPI hosted a very fun cocktail party at Spencer House. Here I am with the talented and beautiful Lowell of designing duo Trager Delaney (Kim is the other genius behind the brand). I was lucky enough to get to wear one of their incredibly cool dresses that night.
Valentines day - Feb 14, 2014
This year, I spent Valentines day hurtling across the world in a small metal tube from LA to London. (My boyfriend and I celebrated early with a romantic lunch on the 13th as he couldn't come with me to London). I arrived in rainy, windy London at 4pm, showered, changed and headed straight out to a pre Bafta event at The London Edition Hotel. Afterwards, my dear friend Alex Eagle hosted the most beautiful Valentines dinner for 20 people at her Soho loft, these strwaberry cocktails were so delicious. 'Twas the perfect first night back in London and so good to catch up with old friends as well as meet a few new people.
Here's me with Lowell & Kim of Trager Delaney at the Lancome Pre-Bafta party at The London Edition hotel. I'm wearing their awesome shirt under a bright yellow Louis Vuitton dress, slightly obsessed with the combo!
I had an audition recently that called for a bit of Parisian summer chic so I called up my super talented friend and stylist to the stars, Anita Patrickson. I had borrowed this Valentino dress from her before and I knew it would be perfect. I styled it up with my trusty Alexander Wang heels and my House of Holland sunnies and I was good to go.
I fancied a bit of a change and was inspired by a pic I saw in Vogue Brazil. So off I went to my amazing colorist Katherine Hyde and my amazing hair stylist Gareth Bromell at Amanda George Salon in LA to get my locks looking fresh and ready for spring.
I recently became and auntie for the second time. Being an auntie brings me more joy than I can even put into words. I love these little ladies so much, especially when they nuzzle up and fall asleep in my arms :)
I love my little(well, big) Baci so much! I rescued her 5 years ago through Dogs Without Borders and I couldn't be luckier to have her in my life. I'm all about rescuing, there are just too many incredible dogs out there in need of homes.
Whenever I'm in Malibu I HAVE to stop by this place and pick up some fresh fish to grill at home. So delicious!
My old friend Max (been friends since we were 8) has a little gem of a shop in London's Soho, it's called Lina Stores. It's filled with an abundance of Italian delicacies. You can eat fresh made ravioli, drink the most delicious of cappuccinos and stock up on yummy cheeses, deli meats and all sorts of things for your kitchen cupboards. I stopped in for a much needed refuel between auditions the other day. (I also grabbed a few little hazelnut chocolates to satiate my never ending chocolate craving). www.linastores.co.uk/
I LOVE to cook.
These bad boys are the newest addition to my cookbook shelf. I mostly like to find recipes on the internet and experiment with them to make them my own. If there's a food or herb that I'm not keen on then I'll switch it for something else. You won't find any cilantro in my cooking, ugh it's the worst!
I successfully made a chocolate Yule log this past Christmas (last years was a big of a disaster). I've got to say that I was pretty proud of my self and it got rave reviews from our Christmas dinner gang (it's possible that they were just being nice, haha). Next years will be even better, I hope!
Reminiscing about last summer. Two of my dear old friends married each other and had the most beautiful wedding near St.Tropez. This was the day after the wedding, we all had a lovely lunch by the beach which turned into a daytime disco. My friend Lauren and I took the dancing out onto the beach and were slightly shocked to discover that this was in fact a nudist beach! Haha!
Things I love... Sundays, sun, flowers and my foxy Marc Jacobs shoes.
Icelandic Lava Cave...
I crawled through one for 90 minutes! With only a headlamp to light the way, I embarked on this underground adventure. It was terrifying but mostly exhilarating! Scrambling over ice covered rocks and past giant stalactites and stalagmites we made our way from one hole in the ground to another where we exited, sweaty and with massive smiles on our faces!! Ooh I love a good adventure, tis good for the soul! Here's me coming out of the cave feeling pretty proud of myself and also, like a bit of a bad ass!
Best thing about walking home through Regents Park.... saying hello to the camels at London Zoo!
I always carry snacks with me wherever I go! I am one of those people who gets "hangry"(angry when hungry), so to avoid this I make sure I always have a little something healthy to munch on. This photo is from Coachella last year with my friend Anita. I made a sandwich in the hotel room before we went into the festival. They all poked fun at me as I packed our little mini fridge full with the groceries I brought with me from LA in a freezer bag but I didn't care. I was happy as a peach every morning to have my kiwi fruit and pot of Fage Greek yoghurt for breakfast. As well as my mid morning snack of rice cakes with almond butter. Yum! My motto... ALWAYS CARRY SNACKS!
Things that can often be found in my pockets/purse...

I am a die hard Beyoncé fan!
I was lucky enough to go to her Mrs.Carter show in London last week and boy was it incredible! I shook my booty and sang my heart out along with Queen Bey(not quite as well as her obviously but I was really trying). Of course I had to get my mitts on one of these bad boys... FLAWLESS! Haven't taken it off since!
I rang in the New Year with champagne; my mum and my oldest friends in the hometown with some makeshift old Xmas tree decorations in my hair. Soho House London with my girls was the perfect way to begin 2014.
London pubs with talented friends.
Mr Jack Fox is my London neighbor, one of my dearest friends and a wonderful actor; you can see him currently in NBC’s Dracula and ITV’s Mr Selfridge. The pub turned into a sporadic theatre trip to see Jack’s brother Lawrence in ‘Strangers on a train’, Lawrence and his co-star Jack Huston were superb – if you are in London go and check it out (Gielgud Theatre – not long left!)
Whilst in London I got to stay at my younger brothers flat which turned out to be Miss Jane Austen’s nearly 200 years ago. Pretty auspicious I’d say for a writer.
My creative soulmate.
I got to spend some of my Christmas with my Lily in her new flat in Peckham. Always such fun and always so hard to say goodbye.
Visiting my younger brothers London gallery wearing my favorite Zara winter coat. Where I found this wonderful late birthday gift, my very own Kelly bag (I nearly cried!). Go visit the gallery if your wandering by, the art is always changing and the space is beautiful.

Vintage shopping with my stylist, Gima Gimita. I've been to London over 40 times and every time I'm there stay in Camden town, north of London. Everyone knows me there. Most of the music venues are located in that area and the vintage shops which I love so much. Gima has been running a vintage shop in Camden called funky town. She's been dressing me up for years. She tells me about all the newest London trends - she's amazing !!
Camden Town my favorite place in the UK
For years I've been traveling to London and I always stay in Camden Town. it's very similar to the east village in NYC, I find new talents /musicians and book them in NYC. Everyone likes to hang out in Camden.

Went to a diamond convention in Vegas. I was invited by the Bassist of Santana for an intimate show at the house of blues. Whatever happens in Vegas stays in Vegas.
I love being active and also a good physical challenge. Despite a black eye my first day of snowboarding with fellow muse Brittney when we were kids, I have gotten much better and love going. Mammoth mountain top.
Every time I see an American flag waving it does something, maybe its being from Wyoming where America is a large part of your identity, but it does affect. Having a lobster roll and watching the flag wave was another moment of peace and gratitude.
Nickel and Nickel
channeling my inner Audrey Hepburn
After a hike in Big Sur, overlooking the ocean. A truly incredible place to getaway.
Need I say more? Some things are simply the truth.
I love wine. There. I said it. Red, white, rose, bubbles, I love it all. So whenever I get the chance to go to Napa I do. Amazing hikes, food and wine? Top destination. JB (the boyfriend) and I go relatively often, this is a pic from a vineyard we randomly drove in. It was delicious and they had a beautiful cave of busts the owner had created, in traditional Italian style. I told JB I am still waiting for mine.
Sunset in Venice
Oh the city of love, and love it was. A city that is man made? We truly can create beyond our wildest dreams. Let your imagination soar!
In Verona at the first castle I have gotten to explore. Incredible! This was Castelvecchio, the castle of the de la Scalla family. Rich in so much history. Just got the Master of Verona, a historical fiction novel using the characters. What better way to learn? And apparently the ruled liked laughter, war, wine. I like two of the three things, counts for something?
In route hiking to the church. I grew up hiking and camping, so whenever there is an opportunity to be active and explore I take it!
In Lake Como we went for a hike to find a remote church., San Marino. Was supposed to be an easy trek. We soon realized we are overly dependent on the iPhone maps, and were very lost in the hills with a language barrier and no church in sight. What a blessing in disguise. We came upon this small house, the man living there was outside caring for his sheep. Yes…this exists. And it’s extraordinary. Sometimes a wrong turn is the best turn.
My “gent” and I vacationed in Italy. We began in Milan, which is where this pic was taken. I was so inspired by the architecture and history even just walking thru the streets. This was a doorway to someone’s apartment, which naturally seemed fitting for a photo.
The balcony from our hotel in Lake Como, the people were incredible. Rarely was one seen sitting on their phone, but the human interaction of people watching and simply talking to one another was everywhere. The beauty in the moments, I still try to keep that memory and practice with me.
The floating pool at our hotel in Como.
Wine. It makes me happy.
On the Island of Bellagio in Como. We had chartered a boat to travel and explore the island, but with a small white Dolce dress, I was not expecting to hit a wave and become fully saturated. One of the funniest moments. (And a good excuse to snuggle for warmth) We found this small shop with the most beautiful leather, silks and cashmere. So along with the snuggling, these things helped for warmth too.
Our boat in Como, the man who owned the company was incredible and so knowledgeable, by the end of the day I could look at a building and say roughly the year built because of the style of human. He was all self taught, including owning a business and then learning English by talking with his customers.
“I am rich. I am rich because I love my job, my girlfriend, my family, my life. Rich is the moments.”
He could not have been more right.
I’m officially a fifth generation Wyoming-an. That isn’t what they’re called, but shouldn’t it be? My dad, aunt and uncle live 2 hours outside of Jackson Hole in a town of 400, Big Piney. One stoplight town? Try none. It is an incredible escape.
This is in Jackson Hole, above the world famous cowboy bar. Every summer I spend time up there. It truly is the old west. This bar is amazing and wonderful to see both the tourists and the locals all there interacting. Every woman should experience “cowboy dancing” at some point in her life. The two steps lives on!
My dad and I took the horse trailer and a few horses and drove way up in the mountains above Big Piney. We actually came across a birthstone for a baby being born along the Oregon Trail. Puts in to perspective about how our cities were created in many ways and how rough it was. And to think I gripe about traffic.
My dad watching the rodeo in Jackson Hole. Amazing to go with him because all his life growing up he would be there riding bulls and saddle bronc horses, rodeo is still my favorite sport.
My girlfriend Marnie Alton and I at the rodeo in Big Piney, we’d gone to watch my aunt barrel ace and my uncle team rope. I swear, putting on my cowboy boots and walking thru the dirt you get a whole new kind of sway.
A bronc rider at the rodeo
Riding with Marnie and the dogs miles away outside my dad’s house. You can go for hours without seeing a soul. Until your dad comes riding up and snaps a photo. Sometimes fathers come in handy.
Riding a friend’s horse at the Jackson rodeo.
This little boy was adorable at the rodeo in Big Piney. (Did I mention I went to a lot of rodeos?I wasn’t lying) He kept pretending to ride an imaginary bucking bronc, would fall down. Dust himself up. Wave to the pretend fans and ride again. Amazing t see his imagination in action.
Only in Wyoming.
Last year’s awards season was certainly an exciting one. My boyfriend worked on Argo, which was both an incredible movie (I’m biased, it’s true) and an incredible experience. It was so exciting to be part and to get to dress up for all the soirees, what girl doesn’t love a chance to don some red lipstick?
My man and I...
My black dress is a vintage gown given to me
by a friend. She recommended I wear it
and this time I had the foresight to make sure it fits. We were going to the Oscars and excitement is
an understatement. I chose an old
Hollywood glamour look, big curls and red lips.
Driving on Highland in the car and seeing the street completely blocked,
security guards everywhere and nothing but black town cars and limos was
certainly a sight to see. It is
one of the top guarded security events in the nation. Walking on the red carpet all I could see were gowns gowns gowns!
I loved seeing the different choices people make in their fashion and seeing what makes them feel beautiful. That is one of my favorite things about fashion, the unique decision an individual makes to feel her best. When Argo began winning, for editor and ongoing we were so excited! When the name was announced it was the most incredible feeling of everyone jumping up and down! It was definitely a night to remember. I was so proud of how hard everyone worked and the outcome on top. On top of that at midnight it was my boyfriend’s birthday, so there may have been a shot of tequila mixed in with the bubbles. Felt blessed…to attend the Oscars and be side by side with an incredible man. A night to remember.
The Golden Globes
The floral gown looks put
together as I leave for the Golden Globes.
Holding my great grandmother’s fur and clutch, I love having something
from family on. Always gives a comfort
and pride. One would never know what
happened in the morning. I woke up and
put on the LANVIN gown that I was excited to wear.
I had actually worn the gown to Cannes prior and was so in love with it
I wanted to wear it again. The only
problem is- I didn’t try it on prior to the day.
Big mistake. Huge. I slipped on the dress and down it fell, two
sizes too big. The stylists I knew were
already working on clients, and every tailor I called either couldn’t do it in
the time frame or simply weren’t open.
Until one extremely small shop on Melrose that saved the day for
me. Three hours later hair and makeup
was done, and I had a dress that
fit. Success! The night was
extraordinary full of dancing and laughing.

I'm leaning on a sculpture of August Rodin "The thinker" It's about 6:30 am! We just opened our exhibition and took that huge sculpture for one day to another part of the city because of Economic Forum. They asked to organize a private exposition for the Russian President and his friends. We woke up at 5 am, came with a truck to the museum, and literally stole our own sculptures and brought them to Economic Forum space.
